‘Rainbow Six Siege’ Starter Edition Offers Cheaper Entry Into Game

Ubisoft has announced that the Starter Edition for Rainbow Six Siege is making a return for a limited time – September 15 to October 13 – exclusively on Windows PC through Uplay. The Starter Edition of the game is $15US (A$19.95) and provides full access to the game, but with a different character unlock model.

Players will get access to two Operators immediately from a pool of six – Rook, Sledge, Ash, Fuze, Mute and Smoke – and 600 R6 Credits to spend on two more Operators (or other unlocks such as weapon attachments) of their choice. Additional Operators can be unlocked by earning 12,500 renown (the in-game currency), compared to 500-2,000 renown in the Standard Edition. Ubisoft predicts it will take roughly 15 hours to unlock one Operator at this rate.

Other than that, the Starter Edition includes access to everything in the Standard Edition. Maps, modes, level progression, post-launch content (including the most recently released map), servers and matchmaking options are all the same.

You may remember that the same deal was available earlier this year.
