Titanfall 2 is having open multiplayer technical tests across the next two weekends, August 19-21 and August 26-28 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The news was announced on the Titanfall 2 website and via a trailer.
During the first weekend, players will have access to four pilot abilities (Pulse Blade, Grapple, Holo Pilot and Stim), two titan types (Ion and Scorch), two game modes (8v8 Pilots vs. Pilots and 5v5 Bounty Hunt), three maps (Boomtown, Homestead and Training), and six primary weapons.
The second weekend of the Titanfall 2 technical test will expand on these options adding the cloak pilot ability, a new 6v6 game mode called “amped hardpoint”, a new map called Forwardbase Kodai, and three more primary weapons.
You may have noticed that the technical test will not be available on PC. In a separate post on the Titanfall 2 website, Respawn Entertainment Founder and CEO Vince Zampella said that the team does not need all platforms to perform a technical test, and the PC build does not yet fully support Respawn’s “Min Spec” on PC. Zampella also adds that the decision to leave out PC players is so that data miners can’t discover single player secrets that the developer would rather save until launch.
Titanfall 2 will be available on October 28 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Origin.
