EA and DICE have announced that an Open Beta for World War 1 shooter Battlefield 1 will begin on August 31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin for PC.
A post on the Battlefield website reveals that the Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include the Sinai Desert map, featuring a “scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar”. Sinai Desert has a mixture of infantry skirmishes through narrow streets, dog fights, and wide open dunes. The Behemoth for Sinai Desert is an Armored Train, which you can see in action in the official Gamescom Gameplay trailer below.
The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include two modes: Conquest, the fan favourite 64 player control point game mode; and Rush, the 24-player explosive arming game mode that sees the Attacking force trying to destroy the Defending force’s Telegraph Posts.
Battlefield Insider members get early access to the Battlefield 1 Open Beta if they sign up by August 21 (so get to it). Once you sign up, or if you’ve already signed up, head to the Battlefield Insider Page and select your platform preference so you can get a code early.
No end date has been announced for the beta, so here’s hoping it never ends. Realistically, the beta will probably last about two to three weeks, depending on whether or not DICE is happy with the quality of the server testing.
If you’re looking for a beta to jump into before Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 is having open technical tests over the next two weekends on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (sorry PC players).
Battlefield 1 will be available on October 21 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin for PC.
