Ubisoft has announced that the third major content update for Rainbow Six: Siege, Operation Skull Rain, will be available on August 2 (possibly today depending on when you are reading this), introducing a new free map and two new operators to the game. The operators will be available for all players on August 9 through Renown or R6 credits, but Season Pass holders gain instant and automatic access to the operators from August 2.
The new map is called Favela, and a Ubisoft press release says it is “the most destructible environment to date”. You can see the map in the video below.
Skull Rain’s two new operatives are Caveira and Capitão. Caveira uses her stealth technique, Silent Step, to sneak up on enemies undetected. Capitão has a tactical crossbow which can fire asphyxiating bolts and micro grenades for surprise attacks.
Along with the new map and operators, the Skull Rain update will include new Skull Rain weapon skins, a new angled grip attachment and a new custom game mode called Tactical Realism.
The Skull Rain update also includes a large list of tweaks and fixes for Rainbow Six Siege. Namely, a new client side anti-cheat system has been implemented and a new system that should prevent most cases of player’s body parts clipping through walls.

Rainbow Six Siege was playable for free last weekend on Xbox One and PC, it is currently 50% off on the Xbox Store.
