For Honor, the game placing you in the shoes of a viking, a samurai, or a knight, received not only a new trailer at E3, but also showcased some of the viking’s campaign to give viewers an idea of what to expect. Even during actual gameplay segments, the explosions look phenomenal and the graphics look crisp. It does seem a bit odd to see an enemy glowing white when they are targeted, particularly in a game which appears to pride itself on its appearance, but as many things can still be tweaked between now and launch, it may not even be a feature in the final product.
Some of the elements showcased in the gameplay trailer are scaling walls, large scale battles, environmental kills, and a hint of plot as the viking attempts to do battle with a samurai. As we can see in the video, button prompts appear during combat as well as some directional choices pertaining to how you hold your weapon. Jumping from above someone to attack them is also a possibility, something we bore witness to as the viking leapt from a higher bridge to an enemy below, although it did not result in an instant death, possibly hinting at the level of difficulty when fighting some enemies.
At the end of For Honor‘s segment, it was announced that it will be available on February 14, 2017 on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
