E3 2016: ‘Days Gone’ Announced

During their E3 conference, Sony unveiled a new IP titled Days Gone. While very little is explained during the emotional trailer, we get the sense that some sort of biological apocalypse has occurred and now people are struggling to survive. We see the protagonist reliving his memories from before the world took a turn for the worse, and occasionally see him back in the present when things are far less comfortable.

To close out the conference, Sony also brought back Days Gone and provided some actual gameplay. We see the protagonist scavenge car parts to craft a make-shift silencer for his pistol. After a brief chase, we see two men wrestling off a roof, landing next to a large number of zombies, at which point one man is promptly eaten. Following this, there is a mad dash for safety as the protagonist tries to escape the zombie horde which is now pursuing him. The scene can only be described as overwhelming, and quite frankly it begs the question as to why the person playing would even bother attempting to cull the carnivorous herd chasing him. The zombies seem nearly endless, and swarm from every direction, coming across as a truly lethal threat.

No release date or details beyond the trailer were given, but we will keep you updated with the latest information on Days Gone as it becomes available.
