E3 2016: EA Intends To Support Independent Developers With EA Originals Program

EA has announced a new initiative for independent developers called EA Originals. Patrick Söderlund, Executive Vice President of Electronic Arts, said the publisher wants to bring first time experience to the world, partnering with smaller developers to provide funding, and offering a level of security to them. He also said that EA wants all profit to be in the hands of the developers.

The first game announced under the EA Originals program is Fe, a third person adventure game that sees players take control of a young cub who has woken up alone in a forest. By acquiring new songs from other animals, the player will be able to access different areas of the forest.

Fe is being developed by a 20 person studio out of Gothenburg called Zoink.
