‘Final Fantasy XII’ HD Remaster Announced

Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, a HD remaster of Final Fantasy XII, is coming to PlayStation 4 in 2017.

A press release from Square Enix says Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will bring the Zodiac Job System to the West for the first time, and will include a new trial mode that allows players to fight in up to 100 successive battles.

The game is receiving graphical and audio updates, with high-definition graphical updates both in-game and in cut-scenes. The remaster will also include 7.1 surround sound and newly recorded background music to utilize improvements in sound production. There will be an option to switch between the original and remastered soundtrack.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodia Age will also include trophy support, PlayStation 4 share functionalities, auto-save and shortened loading times.

The game will be playable at E3 2016.

Final Fantasy XII is not the first Final Fantasy title to be remastered. Remasters of Final Fantasy X and X-2 were released last year, and a Final Fantasy VII remake is in the works.
