2K, in a press release, has announced that Indiana Pacers shooting guard Paul George will be the cover athlete of NBA 2K17. Paul George averaged 23.1 points per game during the 2015-16 NBA regular season.
“I have been playing NBA 2K as long as I can remember, and to be honoured as cover athlete of NBA 2K17 is a blessing and vote of confidence that my hard work on and off the court has paid off,” said Paul George.“I’m excited to partner with 2K and hope to help take the franchise to the next level”.
Paul George was the cover star of the Companion app for MyNBA2K16, and a guest commentator at the NBA 2K16 Road to the Finals championship that took place on June 1. George will also be the cover athlete for NBA 2K Online in China as part of his global partnership with 2K.
In the press release, 2K also revealed an early release for people who pre-order NBA 2K17 at retail or digitally. If you pre-order NBA 2K17 you will receive your copy on Friday, September 16, rather than the game’s September 20 release date. Pre-ordering will also grant players 5,000 Virtual Currency, a MyTEAM Bundle (including 3 packs with a guaranteed Paul George Free Agent card), and more in-game digital content that has yet to be revealed.
The NBA 2K17 Standard Edition will be available digitally and physically on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will be available digitally on Windows PC. The NBA 2K 17 Kobe Bryant Legend Edition will be available digitally and physically on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
