Rob Gronkowski Named As Official ‘Madden NFL 17’ Cover Athlete

On Thursday, May 12 (US Time), Electronic Arts officially unveiled New England Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski as the Madden NFL 17 cover athlete. The cover was revealed live during the 6pm ET edition of ESPN’s SportsCentre program. The cover reveal was accompanied by a video showing debut footage of Madden NFL 17.

“It’s a really special honour to appear on the cover of Madden NFL 17,” said Gronkowski. “It’s one of those things that pretty much every guy in the league secretly dreams of, so to actually be the one on the cover, it’s a really big deal.”

Gronkowski holds the record for most touchdowns by a tight end in a season, as well as four Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl ring.

As with other EA games, EA Access members will be able to try Madden NFL 17 before it’s released for a limited time as part of a Play First Trail on Xbox One.

Madden NFL 17 will be available on August 25 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.
