In a recent fiscal earnings announcement Nintendo announced that its code-named NX next generation video game system is set to launch in March of 2017. This comes as the first release of information regarding the console since the announcement made by the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in March of 2015.
In the earnings announcement current Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima was quoted saying “… we also look forward to an exciting period ahead with further growth in our mobile business, new products for our dedicated video game systems and continued progress in our efforts to increase the number of consumers experiencing our IP through games, licensing and expanded entertainment.” This statement comes at a time where Nintendo is set to expand into other mediums beginning with mobile as seen with the release of its first mobile app, Miitomo, a month ago.
Nintendo additionally revealed that its upcoming E3 conference will not feature the NX and that it is set to be unveiled later this year. For more information on what was announced at the Investor meeting visit the Nintendo of Japan website here.
