Microsoft has announced that Quantum Break, developed by Remedy Entertainment, is officially the biggest-selling new Microsoft Studios published IP on Xbox One. It means the game has already sold more copies than Ori and the Blind Forest, Sunset Overdrive and Ryse: Son of Rome.
While we knew that Quantum Break was the best-selling game in the UK during its launch week, Microsoft also announced that it was the best-selling Xbox game in Australia during its launch week. It was also the most played new game on Xbox, worldwide during its launch.
“Making Quantum Break has been a long journey. Creating a new AAA franchise is always a risk and a huge investment, but at Remedy we want to push ourselves, explore new ideas and realize new visions,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment. “It’s wonderful to see gamers want that too. We’re hugely grateful for the positive reception and glad to see that the story of Jack Joyce and Paul Serene resonates with so many players.”
In the same press release, Microsoft added that it is “working diligently with our partners and with Remedy Entertainment to resolve” issues that some Windows 10 users are having with Quantum Break.
Quantum Break was released on April 5 on Xbox One and Windows 10. You can read our review of the game here.
