It Looks Like ‘Dark Souls’ Is Being Made Xbox One Backwards Compatible

A post on the Xbox store suggests that the original Dark Souls is going to be made backwards compatible on Xbox One soon.

The Dark Souls III store page on Xbox.com says that purchasing a digital pre-order of Dark Souls III on the Xbox One Store will give players a code for the original Dark Souls, “in 7-10 days”.

An IGN report said that the information was only present on an Australian listing, but the United States page has since been updated with the same information. This suggests that Dark Souls could be made backwards compatible in the next couple of weeks.

Dark Souls is not the only title to receive the Backwards Compatibility treatment as a pre-order bonus. Last week Remedy announced that digital pre-orders of Quantum Break will come with a code for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.

Dark Souls III will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 12th.
