Electronic Arts and Coldwood Interactive have today announced the launch of Unravel via digital download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (via Origin). The game will become available in your region once it hits February 9th.
“I wanted to make something more personal, something with more impact. The game didn’t have to change the world, or even try, but it had to be genuine, it had to have a deeper meaning. It had to have heart,” said Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Coldwood.
Unravel is available for $29.99 in Australia and New Zealand and will be available for $19.99 in the United States, with EA Access and Origin Access members saving 10% when they purchase the digital version of Unravel.
Unravel is a physics-based puzzle platformer starring Yarny, a children’s toy made of wool (hence the name). The game’s environments are inspired by the nature of northern Sweden, the country the game was created. The original score for Unravel was also composed in Sweden by local musicians, drawing from local folk music and traditional instruments.
The time between Unravel’s reveal and its release, with the game being announced in June, 2015, at E3.
