Orb the Ball may look simplistic and easy, but the more you play, the more chances Pinocolada’s development team has to throw curve balls at you. Tight coding and a solid physics engines make this one of the better casual mobile games available on the Google Play Store.
Powered by Unity development software, Orb the Ball has you swipe either left or right to alter the entire level, just a portion of it, or other smaller platforms. The important thing to note is that you never actually control Orb. You only manipulate the world around it to aid your attempts to catch the stars and flowers spread throughout each of the 10 levels of the four currently playable zones.
The only micro-transaction I have seen is the $3.10 option to remove advertisement’s permanently from the application. Which is rare in a new age of free apps that reward payers and punish players. There is definite room to add more customization, abilities, and power ups to this game but Pinocolada seems content shipping a basic yet solid game for its users.
Orb the Ball is definitely worth your attention. The game is a free and quick install that will grant a series of challenges when the need to kill time arises. This is one game that will find itself safe next to Hearthstone and a few other games for the foreseeable future.
- Responsive coding
- Ability to alter touch sensitivity
- Various levels and challenges in each zone
- Zone 5 in current development
- Lack of unlockable bonuses
- Room for more customization
The Score: 9.0
