Speaking at PlayStation Experience this weekend, Gearbox Software studio head Randy Pitchford announced that its upcoming shooter Battleborn will have split-screen multiplayer. Players will be able to play through the game’s cooperative campaign on the same television (source: Gamespot).
Also at PlayStation Experience, Pitchford revealed the 16th Battleborn hero, a penguin in a mech suit called Toby. There will be 25 heroes available at launch.
Finally, the Borderlands developer announced that PlayStation 4 players will get early access to the Battleborn Open Beta which starts early next year on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
All PlayStation 4 players who participate in the Open Beta will receive a bonus, unannounced 26th Battleborn hero after the game launches on May 3, 2016. Players will have to login to their purchased version of Battleborn using the same SHiFT account they played the Open Beta with.
Battleborn was originally set to launch on February 9, 2016, but was delayed in November to May 3, 2016.
