Electronic Arts has released a gameplay trailer showcasing the first gameplay footage of the Battle of Jakku, the free map coming to Star Wars Battlefront on December 8 (if you pre-ordered the game and redeemed your code, it is available to play now).
The Battle of Jakku is set 29 years before the events of the upcoming Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Gamespot reports that the map will also introduce a new 40-player mode called Turning Point, which sees the Rebels locating Empire bases to attack and gain control of. “If Rebels capture one, more time is added to the clock and new bases become available. The end goal is to capture the Empire’s third base “where the final stand will take place.” [Developer] DICE notes that capturing bases will become “increasingly challenging” as matches play out.”
In our review, Analog Addiction praised Star Wars Battlefront for its ability to capture the feeling of being in the Star Wars universe.
