New Hi-Rez Studios Game ‘Paladins’ Enters Closed Beta

Paladins, the new game from SMITE developer Hi-Rez Studios, has entered its closed beta phase on PC.

Players who wish to join the Paladins closed beta can sign up for a chance to receive a free invite at the game’s official website. However, if you want instant access, you can purchase a Paladins Founder’s Pack for $19.99USD. As well as beta access, the pack includes an exclusive Fiery Warhorse mount and 20 card chests.

Hi-Rez Studios has said that in-game progress may be wiped during the beta phase, but purchases will always be saved.

At the moment, access to Paladins‘ servers will only be available between 12 noon and 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time (4am to 4pm AEDT) each day, but will move to 24-hour testing as soon as possible.

“We’ve been giving gamers hands-on play time with Paladins at select events around the world since we unveiled it in August, and the response so far has been incredible,” said Hi-Rez Studios COO Todd Harris. “We’re excited to get the game out into the community so we can fine-tune it further into a truly spectacular multiplayer experience.”

Paladins is a team-based first person shooter that combines classic fantasy elements with modern multiplayer action. Each champion has their own weapons, unique skills, a personal mount, and a customisable deck of cards which can be activated during matches to give players an edge.

Paladins is expected to officially launch as a free-to-play game in 2016.
