Xbox and 343 Industries have announced the first free post-launch content for Halo 5: Guardians, Battle of Shadow and Light, which includes the 8v8 Big Team Battle multiplayer playlist and four maps based on fan favourite maps from past games.
Deadlock is a recreation of Standoff (Halo 3), Recurve is based on Longbow (Halo 4), Basin draws from Blood Gulch (Halo: Combat Evolved), and Guillotine is inspired by Headlong (Halo 2). Interestingly, all four maps were made using the forge tools which will be coming to Halo 5: Guardians later this year.
Along with the aforementioned Big Team Battle, Battle of Shadow and Light adds new REQs to the game, including new armour pieces, an assassination, new gun and vehicle skins and new emblems.
A specific release date for Battle of Shadow and Light has not been announced, but it will be available sometime this week. Xbox Wire says the content will automatically download and install for all Halo 5: Guardians players.
