Developer PopCap Vancouver, and publisher Electronic Arts, have announced that Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will be available on February 23, 2016 in North America and February 25, 2016 in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The game was originally planned for a release in Autumn of 2016 (Southern Hemisphere), or between March and May.
Players who pre-order the game will receive immediate access to the Mass Effect inspired ‘Grass Effect Z7-Mech’ when they start the game. The team worked close with Mass Effect developer BioWare to create the mech, which includes a melee Zomni-tool, kinetic padding, and a biotic ability called ‘Pull’ to quickly close the gap on enemies.
Additionally, players who pre-order will receive an emoji pack with 14 new emoji-style accessories to customise each class with.
“At PopCap, we love to excite our fans, and couldn’t be more ready and thrilled to bring Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 into their hands earlier than expected,” said Justin Wiebe, Creative Director, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. “From the immersive worlds and the crazy characters, to the new ways to play such as Backyard Battleground, we’re incredibly proud of the game we’re building. This is a crazy shooter filled with fan-requested features as well as all-new experiences that will make this unlike any other game in the genre.”
The Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare spin-off series takes PopCap’s popular mobile game, and turns it into a third-person shooter.
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation and Origin for PC.
