CD Projekt Red has released Hearts of Stone, the first paid expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Hearts of Stone will once again allow players to take control of everyone’s favourite Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. In this new narrative adventure Geralt is hired to defeat a bandit captain named Olgierd von Everec; though this individual is nothing like anything Geralt has faced before, as he possesses the power (or curse) of immortality. Geralt must choose his own path as he tries to tackle this immortal captain, with over 10 hours of new story content, featuring new battles, familiar faces and new romance options.
Players will also be able to utilise the new Runewords system, which will “significantly affect gameplay”. Each Runeword will effect different aspects of in-game mechanics, allowing players to experiment and see which best suit their play style.
