‘Far Cry Primal’ Announced

Following a leaked reveal yesterday, today Ubisoft has officially revealed the next title in the Far Cry series, Far Cry Primal. As the name suggests, Far Cry Primal is set in 10,000 BC, during the Stone Age, with an emphasis on gathering resources to craft weapons and items – there were no shops in the Stone Age.

“The interesting thing about Far Cry is that it’s flexible. So when a team proposed to explore the idea of a Far Cry taking place during the Stone Age, we just said ‘let’s hear it!’  And the more we heard about it, the more we realised how much of a damn good idea it actually was,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer, Ubisoft.

The game will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal, in collaboration with Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev.

Despite not carrying a number, Far Cry Primal is a full-fledged, single player Far Cry experience. The game takes place in a land called Oros, with the player taking control of Takkar, a seasoned hunter who is the last surviving member of his hunting group.

Far Cry Primal will be available on February 23, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PC users will also be able to play the game, but from March 2016.

If Far Cry Primal is as good as Far Cry 4, we should be in for another great experience.
