Microtransactions Heading To ‘Destiny’

Microtransactions will be coming to Destiny. In a blog post, Bungie announced that next Tuesday, October 13th, a new store will be available in Destiny, the Eververse Trading Company. It will be selling 18 new emotes at The Tower, which can only be bought with a new in-game currency called Silver.

While the developer was not literal about the inclusion of microtransactions, Bungie wrote that Silver “will be available for purchase through the store associated with your console” – A.K.A. with real money.

At the moment, the new store is only selling cosmetic items, and Bungie assures players that “these emotes are completely optional, and won’t impact the action game in any way.”

To convince players that the store is not evil, Bungie is giving all players some free Silver to purchase a couple of emotes.

If microtransactions aren’t your thing, EA recently announced that they won’t be present in Star Wars Battlefront.
