Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, the upcoming Xbox One remake of the first game in the series, has officially gone gold, meaning developer The Coalition has finished making the game.
In honor of the event, The Coalition has made several new announcements.
Players can now pre-order and pre-download either the digital standard or deluxe edition of GOWUE ahead of its Aug. 25 release date.
At $59.99, the deluxe edition comes with 10 animated weapon skins, 36 standard skins, Civilian Marcus Fenix skin and Aaron Griffin skin for multiplayer. The standard edition will be priced at $39.99.
Pre-ordering the standard edition will give players animated imulsion weapon skin, Adam Fenix playable character and Civilian Anya playable character for multiplayer. The pre-order incentives automatically come with the Deluxe Edition.
The Coalition also posted two new videos today. The first shows the opening cinematic to GOWUE with remastered visuals. The original opening is also posted below for comparison.
The second video kicks off a weekly video series leading up to launch with behind-the-scenes features. This debut video goes over processes of The Coalition remastering the original game with 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.
GOWUE, which is also coming to PC, was originally announced at E3 2015 during Microsoft’s press conference. The Ultimate Edition will also come with early beta access to Gears 4’s multiplayer. Check out footage of Ultimate Edition’s multiplayer beta and our thoughts on it.
