Capcom Reveals First New ‘Street Fighter V’ Character, Post-Launch Content Details

Capcom has revealed a brand new fighter that will be joining the Street Fighter V roster, alongside new details regarding unlocking post-launch content.

The announcements were made at the EVO 2015 Championships in Las Vegas. With the reveal that the latest fighter to join the Street Fighter V roster is Necalli, an all new character in the Street Fighter series. Necalli has a wide variety of close range attacks, while Necalli’s V-Skill allows him to pound the ground with his fists to create an explosion that damages his enemies. Necalli’s V-Trigger allows him to channel a mysterious energy that changes his hair colour and his personality for a short period of time. Capcom also stated more details regarding Necalli’s origin and storyline will be released in the coming months.

Alongside the new roster addition Capcom detailed the content plan for Street Fighter V. Players will be able to unlock all post-launch gameplay related content, free of charge. These can be earned in-game, or if players choose, they are able to purchase the content as soon as it becomes available, which is optional for the player. While all balance and system adjustments will also be made available for all players free of charge.

Street Fighter V will launch during Q1 of 2016 for PlayStation 4, while the PC version will release in Spring, 2016. Street Fighter V will have a roster of 16 fighters, 4 of which are brand new additions to the Street Fighter franchise.
