The latest patch for the PC version of SMITE includes a new god, Ravana. Ravana is from the Hindu pantheon. The new god fits into the assassin role, perfect for the jungle or solo lane.
However, the big news from the patch is the balance updates now in place in the PC version. Wards and the jungle are the more substantial changes. The number of wards a player can place is now two instead of three, and the vision range of wards has been reduced from 60 to 45. The developers say it is to make vision more scarce so as to increase the ability to gank (a.ka. ambush) in the laning phase, rather than the other team having full vision of your movements.
With regards to jungling, jungle monsters have had their health reduced to compensate for the changes to the Hand of the Gods item which is now less effective in lanes because it has to be levelled up to hit multiple targets now.
Other changes include adjusting experience point rewards for god kills in the early game with less XP awarded for low level kills. Higher level kills remain similar. Hopefully it stops games from being too one sided from the get-go. Some items have also had their stats changed slightly.
The patch, titled Combo Breaker, also includes new skins for Ao Kuang, Hou Yi and Ravana, a new voice pack for Hou Yi, and some new announcer voice packs, new emotes and some updated god cards.
Also being overhauled is the SMITE 2015 Season Ticket which rewards players for picking competitive match outcomes correctly, and winning games themselves.
For a full, much more detailed explanation of the changes (with maths included), head over to the official Hi-Rez Studios SMITE blog.
While this patch is just for the PC version, the Xbox One version of the game recently received an update that added the god Ratatoskr to the game. The Xbox One version currently has every god but Ravana.
