Larian Studios and Focus Home Interactive have announced the critically acclaimed RPG Divinity: Original Sin will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in the form of Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition in 2015.
The Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition will feature a plethora of improvements over the original release, including a new intuitive user-interface designed for controllers, cough friendly dynamic split-screen, fully voiced campaign with remastered dialogue, hours of new content; including quests, combat-styles, locations and a altered crafting system and reworked storyline.
The Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition will be also be coming to PC and Mac, but Larian Studios has stated it will be a separate experience to the original release and save files will not transfer between each version.
“There was a lot of publisher interest for [the console version] but when Focus approached us, the decision was rapidly made.” Said Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke. “We know each other well, having worked together since 2002, and that means there’s a lot of mutual trust & respect.”
Focus Home Interactive’s Managing Partner Cedric Lagarrigue, was also excited about the renewed partnership. “We’re very proud to accompany Larian on such a big project. We’re pleased to see that both Focus and Larian have remarkably grown since our first partnership more than 10 years ago, and that now together we’ll deliver one of the most exciting RPGs that will release on consoles at the end of 2015.”
Larian Studios also revealed that more details will be released over the coming months, alongside Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition‘s presence at E3 on June 16-18, 2015.
