‘Xenoblade Chronicles 3D’ Available Now

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, a port of the 2012 Wii JRPG, is now available at retail and for download on the 3DS’ eShop.

While Xenoblade Chronicles 3D only works for New 3DS systems due to the game’s size, it utilizes the system’s features, including the two extra shoulder buttons and C Stick, which is presumably used for the camera.

The port also has features not originally in the Wii iteration. Collection Mode allows players to look at various animated character models, while Jukebox lets players listen to the game’s soundtrack, event when the system is closed. Tracks can be unlocked via in-game tokens, meeting other players through StreetPass, Play Coins or, if you were lucky enough to get one, tapping the Shulk amiibo on the touch screen.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is an open-world game that follows Shulk and the crypticness behind his Monado blade. Along the way, players meet new allies, enemies, embark on side quests and find treasures. The real time gameplay focuses on leveling up, character customization and attacking enemies with abilities called Arts.

The sequel, Xenoblade Chronicles X, will release in Japan on April 29, 2015. It was also revealed the game will have optional downloadable content to purchase.
