Developer Image & Form has released the debut trailer for their soon to be released title SteamWorld Dig.

This  hardcore platform mining adventure casts players as lone-wolf steam-powered cowboy, Rusty. While digging to find riches from the old earth, Rusty unwittingly wakes an ancient evil that lurks below.

Players must dig tunnels, collect rare minerals and sell them for better equipment to help them on their journey. Image & Form has stated SteamWorld Dig boasts up to 12 hours of solid gameplay.

SteamWorld Dig will be available in English and Japanese, and will be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on August 7 in Europe/Australia, and August 8 in the US and cost 8.99 USD / 8.99 EUR / 11.99 AUD.
