Ellen Page Feels Naughty Dog “Ripped Off” Her Likeness For The Last Of Us

Ellen Page has spoken out about her lack of appreciation of Naughty Dog supposedly using her likeness for Ellie in The Last of Us.

The last of us before and after.

The Ellie on the left is the previous incarnation of the character with the one on the right being the final design.

When asked on Reddit if she would’ve taken the role for The Last of Us if approached and if she’s noticed the similarity between her and the character of Ellie in The Last of Us, Page responded with:

“I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.”

Page said no more on the matter.

When The Last of Us was first unveiled in December 2011, comparison’s were made between Page and Ellie which eventually resulted in Naughty Dog altering Ellie’s appearance for the final release of the game. The reasoning behind this, according to Naughty Dog was to allow the character of Ellie to “stand on their own two feet.” Naughty Dog also claimed the inspiration for Ellie in fact didn’t come from Page indicating it to be mere coincidence.
