Fallout 4 was shown at a press only behind-closed-doors at E3 last week according to a report.

Gaming website Bubblews reports a reveal was shown to select attendees and is heading for a 2015 release date for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Please note Bubblews hasn’t revealed its source so the information you read here should be taken with a grain of salt.

According to Bubblews, Fallout 4 has been in development since January 2011 and is heading to both current-gen and next-gen consoles though this is allegedly subject to change. The reveal also says the game will be officially show before next year’s E3 a year from now but is headed for an October 2015 release date. Given the size of Bethesda’s internally developed games such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, it’s going to be a huge game with tonnes of content so as it stands, the game is about halfway done with Bethesda hoping to bring in voice actors by the end of 2014.

In accordance to last years report of location scouts from Bethesda spotted in Boston, Fallout 4 according to this source is set in Boston and the surrounding area. Though details are scarce on the story and how the surrounding area will look, it was confirmed in the private screening the trademark underground dwellings known as Vaults will be returning for the player to explore.

Bubblews also claim a 37 second teaser trailer was showcased at the event. The teaser follows in a similar vein to the Fallout 3 teaser trailer shown above. It shows a half destroyed telephone crackling and sparking with the camera slowly bulling out of a bell-tower which is soon to be revealed as Boston. The bell suddenly chimes and the scene cuts to black. Just afterwards, the “War never changes” tagline is once again narrated by actor Ron Perlman.

The Fallout 4 logo then appears on screen.

Whilst Bubblews hasn’t revealed the source, Bethesda is working on a new unannounced title and Bethesda’s internal development is known for its successful Fallout games so it’s likely Fallout 4 is coming but it’s a question of when.

Once again we must emphasise the real source of this information has not been revealed.
