It will be up a publisher’s discretion whether a game will need PlayStation Plus Sony has confirmed.
Speaking to Polygon, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida said “As far as free-to-play games are concerned, it’s a publisher’s decision whether they put it inside or outside of the PlayStation Plus requirements.”
With the PlayStation 4, Sony has made a move to make PlayStation Plus semi-mandatory meaning some games will require a membership to play online.
There are a few games which will be played online that won’t require PS Plus such as DC Universe Online and Blacklight Retribution.
