Will Mirror’s Edge 2 Appear at E3?

Mirror's Edge

Much like Sony, most of EA’s internal studios are gearing up for the next generation of consoles, meaning that they’re already working on new titles for the PlayStation 4 and the next Xbox, and it seems like some of these games will be shown at this year’s E3.

EA has revealed via their shareholder filings that most of its developers are working on next generation titles, and that some games which are set to be released during 2014’s fiscal year will be present at this year’s E3.

A new engine is in development (different from the Frostbite 3, of course), and new titles from EA Sports (at least) will be running on it.

Frostbite 3

“Regarding next generation consoles, we are under a non-disclosure agreement with our platform partners, however, we’re planning a full reveal at E3 including more next generation titles in development for FY14,” EA’s filing reads.

“This will include breakthroughs in graphics and gameplay for some of our biggest franchises including Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NBA LIVE, and Need for Speed. We plan to unveil new titles from EA SPORTS, Bioware, and DICE and a first look at some brand new games.”

So the usual suspects like Battlefield, Need for Speed and Fifa will be present, but how about a new Mirror’s Edge? The filling reads that DICE will unveil a new title, not a new IP, so here’s hoping!

All will be revealed next month, so keep AA on your radar for everything EA-related.
