SimCity Coming To Mac This Summer

Update: EA Australia has confirmed the game will be available June 12 in Australia.

Original Post: EA’s SimCity will be coming to Mac OSX on June 11th.

Players who purchase Sim City on the first day of release will also get the PC version of the game. According to EA, Maxis set out to ensure the Mac version of SimCity would play on par with it’s PC counter part, the “entire software renderer was rewritten for openGL ensuring the best performance on the platform.”

Lucy Bradshaw, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Maxis further explained “We didn’t want to make any compromises when it came to the Mac so we created a native version that is optimised for the hardware and OSX.”

Despite it’s problems, Analog Addiction awarded SimCity a 7.5 out of 10 in our review which you can read here.
