Kojima Explains Why David Hayter Won’t Be Voicing Snake In Metal Gear Solid V

Metal Gear Solid series creator, Hideo Kojima, has explained why David Hayter won’t be voicing Snake in the newly announced Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

In an interview with Game Trailers, Kojima explains that the descision was a purely creative one and has nothing to do with the misdirection Kojima has been acting out in the last couple of months surrounding the game.

“What we’re trying to accomplish is [to] recreate the Metal Gear series,” said Kojima. “It’s a new type of Metal Gear game and we wanted to have this reflected in the voice actor as well.”

However, when pressed to comment on who would be replacing Hayter, Kojima declined to comment for now.

Word of Hayter’s absence from the game came from the voice actors personal Twitter feed noting “At least I had a good run.”
