PlayStation 4 Controller Leaked

A prototype controller for  Sony’s as of yet unannounced next-genration platform has been leaked.

The controller shown here is merely a prototype but already bears resembelence to the previously rumoured DualShock controller redesign from January. As seen in the picture itself, the controller is not only wider but it also sports the touchpad similar to that of the PlayStation Vita’s. The touch pad is in the place of the Start and Select buttons and looks like it could act as a sort of trackpad sort of like a Mac. The PS button is still present on this iteration of the controller sitting just below the touchpad in between the joysticks which have also gone under a change in design.

The joysticks themselves look to groove inwards slightly rather like the current Xbox 360’s. The current joysticks on the DualShock 3 are currently dome shaped. The joysticks are still maintaining the level design the controller has sported since the 1990’s. The triggers also look like they have undergone a change but from the angle the picture is taken its hard to be sure but it looks as if they’re based into the controller like the PlayStation 2’s DualShock rather than protruding outwards. The whole area of the triggers looks to be coming out of the controller as a sort of raised platform.

As for that blue light at the top, one can only guess what it might be but it’s probably safe to assume that it will be related to the PlayStation Move in some way.

  1. I think that everything said was actually very logical.
However, think about this, what if you added a little content?

I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to run your website, however suppose you added a title that makes people want more? I mean PlayStation 4 Controller Leaked | Analog Addiction is kinda vanilla. You ought to look at Yahoo’s home page and
watch how they create post titles to get viewers interested.
You might add a related video or a pic or two to get readers
interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it would bring your blog a little bit more interesting.

  2. I dig the bigger handgrips. I might not be the prettiest thing (I assume the look will change), but Ill be damned if it doesn’t look like an improvement – functionally that is. A note on the sticks – I actually prefer the analog stick set up on the PS3 to the Xbox, only because it is better for FIFA. Also something I noticed on this model compared to the Dualshock 3; the analog sticks are spaced out more, which is a very good thing.

  3. I’ve heard that the new prototype has triggers that closely resembles the 360’s. That would be quite helpful for first person shooters and driving games thats for sure. But really, I think we’re all waiting for The Phantom Pain to deliver a KO when it releases for PS4. Here’s hoping they switch the left thumbstick and d-pad and make it closer to the 360’s design. I find that easier to control.
