Is PlayStation 4 Ready To be Announced?

A teaser for the reveal of a mysterious announcement has just exploded onto every PlayStation related social media outlet. Facebook, Twitter and Youtube are now adorned with the words “See the future” and “Be the first to know”. The “future” in question is the future of PlayStation and a date of February the 20th at 6PM EST.

Well what do you think this announcement is? Could it finally be the announcement of the PlayStation 4? Could the next-gen be here? You’ll also notice that Sony’s Kaz Hirai said that they would allow Microsoft to go first in the announcements of the next-gen consoles. PlayStation 3 has largely been playing catch up for the last six years after Sony released the PS3 a year after Microsoft released the Xbox 360. Perhaps Sony is anxious not to make the same mistake again?

The official word from Sony was that this announcement “The PlayStation Meeting will be about the future of the PlayStation business.” The event itself is taking place in New York City, February 20th at 6pm.
