Zynga’s Chief Game Designer “Moves On”

Zynga’s chief game designer, Brian Reynolds has left the troubled social gaming developer.

In a letter sent to employee’s, it was said that “Brian Reynolds has decided to move on and pursue other opportunities,”

Shorty after, Zynga released an official statement that further explained the departure of Reynolds.

“Brian has a long history in the game industry and has been a great partner to the creative leaders at Zynga. I want to thank him for his leadership of the Zynga Baltimore studio in the design and development of FrontierVille, which brought many innovations to social gaming,” said Zynga’s Steven Chiang. “We appreciate Brian’s contribution and we’re proud of the deep bench of creative leaders who are leading the next wave of game innovation at Zynga. We wish Brian the best in his next chapter.”n official statement confirming the departure.”

This adds to the continuing bad line of business for Zynga. The most recent damage dealt to the company was that, due to financial constraints, many of its long running social games were shut down at the beginning of the year. The developer also lodged an unsuccessful lawsuit against EA over copyright in August.
