Hitman Absolution Has Some Nasty Save Issues

Hitman Absolution has some pretty frustrating problems concerning save files players should definitely pay attention to.

If you plan on playing through the long awaited Hitman Absolution, you may want to hold off for a bit. There’s a bug going around that corrupts players saves. There are numerous reports of the problem affecting both Xbox 360 players and PlayStation 3 players. Those affected by the bug also include this editor who played through five to six hours of the game twice to have the save files erase themselves. Twice.

The bug seems to affect a level in Part II of the game. The bug features the save icon displayed on the screen for an excessive amount of time before players lose all control over the game and Agent 47 decides he’ll control himself and walk into a wall. A forced restart is often needed to get away from the game. It’s after this point that the game will say that the save is corrupted.

IO Interactive are aware of the problem and that they are “working on it“. Square Enix recommended deleting the games utility data and reinstalling it might help but unfortunately that has no effect.

We’ve reached out to IO Interactive to see if there are any other solutions players can try to prevent their save games being erased.

Despite the problem here, Analog Addiction’s Jamie Briggs really, really liked the game and you can check out the review here!
