Playstation Plus is Coming to the Vita Next Week

If you’ve love the juicy deals Playstation Plus gives you on the Playstation 3, then you can finally bring those deals with you on the go starting next week.

Monday, November 19th, Sony will release Vita Firmware 2.00, which will show Vita users Playstation Plus functionality. Then on November 20th, the Playstation Store will update and Playstation Plus subscribers will get their share of the first batch of free games. Note that this is only in North America, but the UK and AU will receive similar deals in the near future.

The first line up is looking quite impressive:

  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP)
  • Gravity Rush
  • Jet Set Radio
  • Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • WipEout 2048

Firmware 2.00 will also see some new additions including wireless communication with PCs, checking emails on Gmail and Yahoo, adjustments to the settings for Playstation 1 games and a more efficient web browser. Like the Playstation 3, the Vita will get 1 GB of cloud storage if you are a Playstation Plus subscriber.

Does this entice you to get Playstation Plus? Perhaps it motivates you to get a Vita now that Playstation Plus has found its way to the platform? Let us know what you think of the update in the comments below.

    • Not gonna lie. They’re pretty awesome deals. The one thing that concerns me though is memory. Memory cards aren’t cheap for the Vita and I would imagine a game like Uncharted: Golden Abyss would take up a good chunk of memory.
