Black Ops II Smashes Pre-Order Numbers

Yet another year, another Call Of Duty and yet another year of record breaking. According to US retailer Gamestop, Activisions latest war romp has exceeded pre-order numbers and has made history. Again. “Consumer anticipation for Call Of Duty Black Ops II is tremendous. We are seeing the highest pre-orders in history. With its current pace, this Call of Duty is on track to break records and is likely to be our biggest game launch of all time.” said Gamestop president Tony Bartel.

We’ve had reports from Amazon earlier in the year that Black Ops II pre-orders were starting to overtake pre-orders for last years Modern Warfare 3. And two days ago, Activision announced that Call Of Duty Elite will be free for Black Ops II along with DLC being bundled in a season pass.

  1. They can smash pre orders all they want. The franchise is smashed into the ground for me. Not only this, but it indirectly hurts other ones like Jame Bond. How? Well look at 007 Legends. Activision wants all these super duper high action adventures and basically destroyed the appeal of the protagonist in favor of COD style set pieces. Well, thanks but no thank…

    • I’m not convinced that Activision are aiming to make all of their games play like Call Of Duty. By that logic, Fall Of Cybertron would’ve been an FPS.
