Everything 38 Studios (the studio responsible for Kingdoms of Amalur) owned is now being sold at auction (with the exception of one item) according to the auction company SJ Cordio’s website. According to the site, the auctions will contain “High-end computers, servers, graphic design & animation equipment, office equipment, office furniture, audio recording equipment, motion capture suit, flat panel plasma & LCD TV’s, and so much more.” The items will be split up between two separate auctions on October 16th and October 23rd in Timonium, Maryland, and Providence, Rhode Island respectively.
Initially, the contents of the auction also included an Xbox 360 development kit, but Microsoft has since spoken out against the sale of it since the kits are property of Microsoft and can only be given to authorized developers by Microsoft themselves. The kit has now been pulled from the auction, but everything else has remained in the sale.
For a complete list of the items on sale, click on the SJ Cordio hyperlink, but if you’d like the shortlist, let me tell you that you’re in luck if you want a gently used Keurig coffee maker or some conference tables. In all seriousness, there are plenty of high quality televisions, a refrigerator or two, a ping pong table, Astro gaming headsets, and a hand recognition security system. If you’re in the area, and any of those interest you, see what you can do about showing up at the auction with a large quantity of disposable income, these items definitely won’t go cheap.
Eric would love to buy a motion capture suit, but he knows Jamie would be jealous of it.
